Our Team

Renee Nahum is the president of Renee Nahum and Associates, a full-service consulting firm that specializes in both field campaigns and community engagement.  She also serves currently as the Political Director of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP).

A 20-year veteran of Los Angeles politics, she has led many state and local campaigns to victory including: Mitch O’Farrell for Los Angeles City Council, Richard Bloom for CA State Assembly, and West Hollywood City Council Members John Duran, Jeffery Prang, and John D’Amico. Her success in the political sphere garnered her prestigious collaborations in the corporate world with clients such as The Nederlander Organization, AEG, and the United Teachers of Los Angeles, where she has used her expertise in engagement around issues to help these groups achieve their specific goals.

Renee also has extensive experience in the field of cannabis regulation and licensing. Since the legalization of recreational marijuana in California on January 1, 2018, RNA has been at the forefront of helping recreational dispensaries navigate the myriad regulations involved in the application and licensing process. RNA has pioneered an approach of holistic community engagement that makes the community an essential partner in a dispensary's success, removing the adversarial relationship that so often mars the introduction of a dispensary into a community.

Renee started her activism in the Pro-Choice movement defending women’s health care clinics against Operation Rescue and others who sought to deprive women from receiving the medical care they were entitled to. This activism led Renee to take a leadership role as an elected member and co-chair of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, and she also works within the Democratic Party as an elected member to the LACDP and as Vice President of the North East Progressive Democrats.

Outside of politics, Renee is a passionate animal rights activist/advocate, and she is a member of the first graduating class of the famed California Institute of the Arts.
